Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using DocuWise at docu-wise.com (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all visitors, free users, and paying subscribers.

2. Description of Service

DocuWise provides an AI-powered document workspace with three core capabilities:

• Document Chat: Upload documents and ask questions; receive AI-generated answers with source citations.
• File Conversion Tools: Convert between PDF, Word, and image formats. Available to unregistered visitors with daily limits.
• AI Document Generation: Generate structured documents (outlines, reports, emails) from templates and prompts.

3. Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@docu-wise.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

Each account is for a single user. Sharing login credentials or reselling access is not permitted.

4. Subscription Plans and Billing

DocuWise offers two plans:

Billing: Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual cycle. Payment is processed by Creem. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges to your payment method.

Cancellation: You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time from your account settings. Access to Pro features continues until the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time.

Refunds: We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee on your first Pro subscription. Contact support@docu-wise.com within 7 days of your initial charge to request a full refund. After this period, all charges are final.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Upload content that is illegal, harmful, defamatory, obscene, or infringes third-party intellectual property rights.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or circumvent rate limits, authentication, or access controls.
• Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the Service (except for authorized API integrations, if offered).
• Upload documents containing sensitive personal data of third parties without their consent.
• Distribute, resell, or sublicense access to the Service.
• Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its infrastructure.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without prior notice.

6. Your Content and Data

Ownership: You retain full ownership of the documents you upload and the content you create. By uploading a document, you grant DocuWise a limited, non-exclusive license to process that document solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

AI-generated content: Outputs generated by the AI are provided for informational purposes. We make no warranties about their accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose. Do not rely solely on AI-generated content for legal, medical, financial, or other professional decisions.

Document processing: Your document text is sent to OpenAI’s API to generate responses. By using the Service, you acknowledge this and agree to OpenAI’s usage policies.

7. Intellectual Property

All software, design, trademarks, and branding of DocuWise are owned by or licensed to us. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our express written permission.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI RESPONSES WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DOCUWISE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Service Availability and Changes

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uptime. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. For material changes that affect paid subscribers, we will provide at least 30 days’ notice.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of the jurisdiction where DocuWise operates, and you consent to such jurisdiction.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. We will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
